Generating a book of authority (BOA) can be done by simply clicking the BOA button in the Microsoft Word Ribbon.
Once you've clicked the BOA button, you'll be prompted to select which references you want to exclude or include. By default, they will all be included.
It will take a few seconds to create the BOA, especially for longer documents with many references. Once it is created, it will open in a new window in Adobe Acrobat or on the default program for pdf files.
Simply save it where you want and you're done!
Please note that when you generate a BOA, the In Sync indicator on the Microsoft Word ribbon will be highlighted green. When you make any changes to the document, the In Sync button will change color and turn yellow letting you know that you'll need to regenerate the BOA once more. Don't worry, we'll change all the references, tab numbers and side bars automatically.
