Before reading, check out: How do I cite a case?
CiteRight will apply a citation format based on the available information from the source you saved it from by default. However, you can always modify how that reference appears throughout your document after it is saved. In this article, you'll learn how you can modify various pieces of your reference.
Click Modify in the case preview pane to change how a reference appears in your document
1. In your Microsoft Word document, select the reference you want to modify. Click the Modify button in the preview pane.
2. Another side panel will appear and allow you to change the appearance of the citation, the short form, and/or the pinpoint type. Once you have edited the item, select Save.
Your changes will automatically be applied throughout your document. You can always revert your changes to their original appearance by selecting the Revert button in the Modify panel.
Please note that any changes to the hyperlink will not direct the user to the specific paragraph in the web version of that case.
Any changes that are made in the body of the document or within the field of the footnote will revert when the reference refreshes. Instead, always make changes using the "modify" as detailed above.
