CiteRight allows you to create a custom reference for any item that CiteRight cannot save automatically. In those instances, this article will show you how to keep your links intact when you are adding new pages to an existing BOA.
Replace don't delete!
When you generate a BOA with a custom reference, CiteRight inputs a placeholder reference that indicates the reference page is missing and includes a link to that page in the index page. The intention is that you'll remove that page with the content you require. Consequently, the link in the index page will point to the correct place when selected.
In order to ensure that the link takes you to the correct place, you'll need to make sure that you do not delete the placeholder page. Instead, replace the page with the desired files and the links from the index page or from a cross-linked BOA should continue to work as expected.
